February 25th - March 1st

We had a great week with students finishing their personal narratives and
lots of creative, engaged actors demonstrating their talents on Friday during
our Drama presentations.  They were incredible!  While practicing their
plays, they were able to learn how to work in their groups.  Together
they read over their plays daily, made props, and had a dress rehearsal.
This concludes our lessons in drama for now, but I hope to have them
write and perform fables during the month of May.

On Tuesday they will be taking the STAAR Ready Reading test.  We will use
the same procedures as the real STAAR test to be given in April.  Please
make sure your child gets plenty of rest, eats a good breakfast, and
gets to school on time.  Please remind them in reading they will prove all
their answers with evidence.  Monday's lessons will be reviewing
the different types of genres, inferencing, summaries, and various other
skills they've been taught.  Wednesday, they will take their STAAR Ready
Math test.  Their schedule will remain the same for PE, Fine Arts and
lunch.  Visitors are not allowed on campus during the testing days.

We will not be able to go to the library on Tuesday, but I will try to schedule
another time this week when there is an opening.  Your child will have
it written in their agenda as soon as I know.  Last week the students were
given in their afternoon classes a sticker reminding parents to take the
Climate Survey.  Parents, students, and staff are requested to take this
survey regarding our campus.  I will be taking the students to take theirs in
the Computer lab on Thursday.

Once again, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to
contact me.

Have a great week!

Becky Gloria
