I can't believe it's already October! Time has really flown by and our students have been busy. Our Multiplication Bee was a success! Congratulations to our class representatives Arjuna Manda and Jacob Eytcheson. Also congratulations to Emily Garcia and Jayla Arellano for representing our class in the Random Mulitplication Bee. All of our students did well. We have another busy schedule this week. Number relationships in tables will be taught in math. In science, students will learn the impact heat has on matter and in social studies, the Native American Indians in Texas will be our focus.
During language arts, we will continue to study expository texts in reading and writing. Our expository essay this week will be written on what our students want as a career when they grow up. We will study cause and effect, summarization, and vocabulary, as we read and analyze The Antarctic Journal, a nonfiction selection. On Tuesday we will go to the library. Please remind your child to bring their books. We will have a lesson with Mrs. Rivera, our counselor this week. On Friday morning, we have an assembly, "Stop Bullying Now." If you have not signed up for a Fall conference, please see an additional form in your child's homework folder or please give me a call. It is important that we meet with you and your child. If the times left on the form do not fit in with your schedule, I can make other arrangements to meet with you when it is more convenient.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Have a great week!
