September 17th - 21st

On Monday, we are fortunate to have Phil Bildner, an author of childrens' books as a guest speaker for our fourth graders.  He visited us two years ago, encouraging and inspiring our students
to become good writers.  Students will attend during their
Language Arts class.  In reading, we will continue to analyze fictional selections reviewing plot and characterization.  We will finish our personal narrative from last week, edit, and make revisions in writing.  This week in math, students will be learning the meaning of multiplication and applying it to word problems.
Learning the Texas regions will be the focus of social studies as well as activities for "Freedom Week." During science, students will be classifying matter.

Wednesday, September 19th is an early release day.  Students will be dismissed at 12:45.  On September 27th, we will have our class
Multiplication Bee.  Please encourage your child to continue to
study their multiplication facts daily.  On September 28th, we will have our grade level Multiplication Bee.  We're looking forward to it!  Many thanks to everyone for sending your children with
healthy snacks.  A special thank you to those that have provided
snacks for the entire class.  They really do appreciate it!

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.  Have a great week!
