Our first week of school was busy! I had a great time getting to know each of our terrific students. We spent the week building our community by working with our classmates, adjusting to our fourth grade class schedule, and beginning to work as a team for success.
This week in language arts,we will continue to establish our reading and writing workshops. In writing, we will begin studying the 6 +1 traits. We will learn about two traits this week, Ideas and Organization. Our students will continue to write daily and share their ideas with our class. The focus in reading this week will be the plot of a fictional selection. Place value will continue to be taught in math, and safety and tools will be studied in science. Community building will be the emphasis in social studies instruction. Wednesday is our Fourth Grade Parent Orientation Night in the library from 6:00 - 7:00. We hope to see you there!
