January 7th - 11th

Happy New Year!  I hope everyone had a restful and fun holiday with
your family and friends.  Thank you so much for all your help with making
our "Winter Celebration" a success.  I truly appreciate your help by sending
all the food items, drinks, utensils, for attending and much more.
This semester we will begin by studying decimals in math.  We will continue
learning about the Texas Revolution in social studies and natural
resources in science.  REMEMBER each fourth grade student is
required to have a Science Fair Project.  On January 10th, all students
and parents are invited to Science Fair night.  Answers to questions
you may have, and information about your student's project can be
gathered at this event.  Folktales which includes, tall tales, myths, legends,
and fairy tales will be the focus of reading for the next few weeks.
In writing, we will be revising and editing previous narrative compositions
this week and then begin writing new ones next week.

Our Kiss- O - Gram fundraiser is coming very soon.  We are in need
of parents to volunteer during the lunch hours outside of the cafeteria.
Most importantly, we are looking for 1 - 2 parents to be in charge of
it.  They will help organize times for the parents to be there and help
us set up and take down daily.  If you are interested, please contact
me.  It ran smoothly last year, and I know it will be just as great
with your help.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to
contact me.
