Please make sure to sign up and return the sign up form with your child as soon as
possible. I look forward to meeting with you and your child. This week we will be
continue to study expository text in reading and focus on the main idea and details.
Our students will be planning, and writing an expository composition about their
future career.This month we will participate in the Pizza Hut Book It program.
The students will continue to read their 20 minutes daily, record it on their reading
log with your signature, and turn it in on the following Monday. In addition they
will submit a summary of any book they have read during that week. At the end
of October they will have read a total of 460 minutes, turned in 4 summaries and
will receive a coupon for a free personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut. They will
chart their weekly reading on a Pizza Hut chart in class every week. This will be
a good way for them to monitor their progress in achieving their goal.
